    Some of us here at Imagen were lucky enough to visit the Emirates stadium last week to attend Microsoft’s “Sporting Industry Insights” Event. We were delighted to be invited to be a part of the day, where our CEO, Tom Blake, gave a talk on how our Enterprise Video Platform, Imagen, uses Microsoft Azure to help boost fan engagement levels and improve the sporting engagement experience for end users and organizations across the globe.

    The event had a number of other interesting discussions, including an enlightening analysis from Radio 5 Live presenter, Jonathan Overend. He reminded us all of just how quickly technology has moved forward in the sports broadcasting industry. When he began presenting 30 years ago, reports were stored on tapes, which soon shifted towards CD’s and floppy disks in the 90’s, and now here we are in 2016 with the ability to store all of this data on the cloud for instant access, anywhere.

    Jesus Serrano from Microsoft also gave a talk on Real Madrid‘s fan engagement app which was launched last summer and is powered by Microsoft Azure. The Real Madrid App has reached over 2 million fans worldwide and helped them engage with their sport through mobile and tablet computing – giving them delayed access to matches, multi-angle displays, exclusive interviews and live match feeds.

    After hearing some of the most influential technology experts in the broadcasting industry share their stories, it reminded me just how exciting it is to be a part of this vast technological shift.

    Imagen really is transforming the way that sporting organizations connect with their fans and partners. With our integration with Microsoft Azure storage, our platform can provide end users with access to content across the globe with ease. Our new release, Imagen 4, enables people to gain insight into user trends with our handy user intelligence feature. Imagen 4 allows sports clubs, federations and leagues to keep the user experience completely “on brand” whilst monetizing their media content with our customizable web interface and subscription VOD feature.
