New York – 04.04.2019 – Imagen, the leading SaaS video management platform business, was recently selected by Major League Baseball (MLB) to manage and distribute its library of game highlights. The MLB Classics Portal provides a centralised video platform for broadcast partners around the world, and displaces MLB’s longstanding FTP infrastructure with an intuitive self-serve platform.
The dedicated white-label system contains over 10,000 MLB media assets; including game recaps, player specific packages, ‘top five moments’ clips, and will serve over 60 broadcasters in 36 countries. MLB has seen upwards of 600 individual users accessing the platform in the first week of deployment. Utilising Imagen’s Accelerated File Download, MLB can now distribute their broadcast quality files to a range of devices and users with just one click.
Previously, with no video analytics in place, it was difficult for MLB to observe who was interacting with their media, how often, and where it was being used. Imagen’s powerful audience analytics will provide media teams with key insights and statistics into who is accessing and downloading content within the system to aid content recommendations for registered users.
Major League Baseball’s solution not only enables secure access to valuable content, it provides an elegant delivery system that has been fully branded to reflect the high standards and quality associated with the league. Imagen’s enhanced search functionality allows logged in users to search, playback and download game highlights, whilst broadcasters can request access to license an array of “classic” match ups to cover programming slots when games are delayed due to unforeseen circumstances.
