Just before the 2015 Christmas break, we proudly announced that Imagen Ltd had been awarded the ISO 9001:2008 certification. This is the internationally recognised standard for quality management, which confirms that Imagen Ltd has reached required standards for its Quality Management System (QMS). The QMS promote the development of continual improvement and focus on customer satisfaction through the implementation of a complete suite of management processes.
During the initial process of setting up the Quality Systems we found that we were really standing back and thinking about everything we do as a company. This is a process that is rarely given the time that it needs, and was invaluable for us. We started to think about and document every nuance of procedure in terms of what would be efficient for us as a company as well as what would derive greatest customer satisfaction. This provided a standardised method of working which sets the bar for all members of our team on a daily basis, and facilitates more simplified staff induction and training. We are seeing a gradual ‘buy in’ from everyone involved in the company, from top down, as the value of the methodology becomes more and more apparent. Now we have a cohesive team all using the same processes and all working towards the same objectives, and this can only impact positively on our own effectiveness and our customers’ experience in working with Imagen Ltd.
The ISO 9001 certification isn’t the end of the story though. In fact it is just the beginning. The processes developed in achieving the certification will be under constant review and scrutiny as we scale the business operations in line with our anticipated growth. The review will be carried out in house through internal audits, through external assessment by the British Standards Institution (BSI), and of course indirectly by our customers. All feedback will be used to ensure that we evolve and grow as effectively and profitably as we can, with customer satisfaction and experience central to everything we do.
We are now in the process of working towards the ISO 27001 standard relating to Information Security Management. This will further reassure our customers that quality is taken very seriously at Imagen Ltd.
